Spooky Season is Perfect for Ghost Hunts at Historic Cedar Grove and/or the Hugh Torance House & Store

Step into the shadows to explore the c. 1831 Cedar Grove plantation house and/or the c. 1779 Hugh Torance House and Store. Are they haunted? We’ll let you see for yourself on these special evenings with the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society for an authentic ghost hunt and paranormal investigation, using professional tools and equipment to search for spirits from the past. Cedar Grove is only open annually for this treat during spooky season, and Hugh Torance House and Store offers ongoing opportunities to seek the ghosts year-round.

Watch Out for a Murder October 24th at 6:00 PM

Join us for an immersive Murder Mystery Dinner where elegance and suspense intertwine. While unraveling clues and questioning suspects, each guest will become part of this experience by observing, investigating, and perhaps even discovering that not everything is as it seems during this spooky dinner hosted by the historic Sharpe House at the Statesville Event Center.

Sharpe House 160th Anniversary Masquerade Ball

Halloween 2026 Is A Historic Event!

Guests are invited to come celebrate the home’s 160th Anniversary in masquerade, dressing in historic costumes from any historical period. Enjoy a costume contest, guided tours of the newly refreshed first floor, and an elegant selection of hors d'oeuvres and beverages. All proceeds benefit the ongoing upkeep and new projects at the historic Sharpe House.

Make a difference for our local heritage! We are seeking volunteers for Community Service Days at the historic Hugh Torance House and Store in Huntersville, NC. Whether you're a Scout, part of a local club, a student group, a business team, or an individual, we welcome your help in removing invasive species, restoring native habitats, and constructing the new Kitchen Trail. This exciting project needs everyone’s help, no amount too great or too small!
