HEARTS Collaborative (History, Ecology, Arts, Reunion, Trails, Store/sustainability) is an umbrella non-profit organization preserving, sharing, and connecting what makes North Carolina's historic Catawba Valley region special.
HEARTS weaves threads of local lore, past and present, into a vibrant and interconnected tapestry of our region. By bringing inspired place-based programming to local historic sites, maintaining a robust online database, and providing operational support for participating sites, HEARTS fosters a shared sense of place and belonging in the communities it touches.
While HEARTS actively works to preserve our special places, it also gives those sites new life. In-person HEARTS Happenings turn to the hyper-local for inspiration, featuring not only local history, but also native ecology, genealogy, and curated local art, music, and dance.
HEARTS connects and supports a broad array of regional historic sites and natural places, providing bespoke solutions for special places. By illuminating the unique aspects, details, and potential of a historic place, HEARTS delivers sustainable preservation strategies while sharing place-based history, nature, and the arts with the community.
