HEARTS Collaborative introduced its newest art exhibit for the fourth quarter, Essence of Nature, bringing together the work of four artists whose creative perspectives explore the beauty, complexity, and connections found throughout the world around us. HEARTS welcomed back the Catawba Nation to Cedar Grove on October 17, 2025, for our third annual HEARTS Catawba Nation ’26 event. The program explored the historical roots, cultural traditions, and enduring legacy of the Catawba Indian Nation: Ye Iswa, the “People of the River,” who called our region home for more than 14,000 years. Through presentations, traditional ecological knowledge, local artifacts, and live cultural demonstrations, guests gained a deeper understanding of the people whose ancestral lands once extended across the Carolina Piedmont.

HEARTS celebrated the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with our HEARTS 250th Anniversary: Forging Our Freedom, featuring blacksmith, spinning, and weaving demonstrations. HEARTS Junion 2026 at Cedar Grove celebrated the life and legacy of Henry Brevard through history, music, ecology, and art. The program featured genealogist Andre Kearns' keynote, live performances, an Eco-Minute, and the "Liberty" art exhibition, highlighting the importance of preserving local history through community engagement.

Learn about one of Iredell County’s oldest historic roadways, its connection to the Great Wagon Road, native plants, early settlement history, and preservation efforts that protect this important piece of North Carolina heritage.

The historic Sharpe House will celebrate a milestone this spring with its 10th Annual Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 2nd, inviting guests to enjoy an elegant outdoor Garden Party inspired by Gilded and Edwardian traditions. Featuring traditional afternoon tea fare, Southern hospitality, and three limited seatings, this beloved event honors mothers and special women while supporting preservation efforts at the historic Sharpe House. On Saturday, March 28, 2026, HEARTS Collaborative brought the community together for the “HEARTS United to Save Brevard’s Chapel Gala,” a celebration of history, heritage, and the arts at a very special fundraiser to preserve and rehabilitate the historic Brevard’s Chapel in Denver, NC. The event was held at the historic Machpelah Church in Iron Station, whose history is directly linked to Brevard’s Chapel.
