On August 15, 2026, the HEARTS Collaborative presented its first Davidson event at the Hurt Hub in Davidson for a poignant milestone: the fifth anniversary of HEARTS’ Sacred Grounds series. Titled "Sacred Grounds ‘26: Beyond the Wall," this immersive event invited the community to look closer at the history beneath our feet, specifically the burial grounds of the enslaved, which have often been marginalized or forgotten.

A Fun-filled Day for All! HEARTS 250th Anniversary: Forging Our Freedom
HEARTS celebrated the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with our HEARTS 250th Anniversary: Forging Our Freedom, featuring blacksmith, spinning, and weaving demonstrations. HEARTS also kept the grill going all day, giving out free hot dogs for everyone to enjoy on this very special 4th of July.

Historic Sharpe House 10th Anniversary of Annual Mother’s Day Tea
The historic Sharpe House will celebrate a milestone this spring with its 10th Annual Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 2nd, inviting guests to enjoy an elegant outdoor Garden Party inspired by Gilded and Edwardian traditions. Featuring traditional afternoon tea fare, Southern hospitality, and three limited seatings, this beloved event honors mothers and special women while supporting preservation efforts at the historic Sharpe House. HEARTS United to Save Brevard’s Chapel Recap
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, HEARTS Collaborative brought the community together for the “HEARTS United to Save Brevard’s Chapel Gala,” a celebration of history, heritage, and the arts at a very special fundraiser to preserve and rehabilitate the historic Brevard’s Chapel in Denver, NC. The event was held at the historic Machpelah Church in Iron Station, whose history is directly linked to Brevard’s Chapel.

This year’s edition, Irish Connections '26: Sharpe Focus, explores the history and heritage of Statesville's Sharpe Family and how they and many other Scots-Irish immigrants came to this region in the 18th century.
Featuring Dr. Hugh Dussek, Irish dance by the award-winning Connick School, live Celtic music by Celtic Sessions, and more, this place-based HEARTS Happening has something for everyone.

Step Back in Time: 2-1-26, Living History Day at the Hugh Torance House & Store
The Hugh Torance House and Store (HTHS) invites the public to step back in time as it opens its 2026 season with a special Living History Day on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
This immersive community event commemorates the 245th anniversary of the Battle of Cowan’s Ford that happened on February 1, 1781, right down the road from HTHS. Join us as we bring the late 18th and early 19th centuries to life through dedicated reenactors, hands-on experiences, and enthusiastic volunteers.
